New Beginning: A Transition to Student Government Administration

Event Summary

The Institute of Mathematics and Computer Studies (IMACS) formally transitioned to the Institute of Computing and Digital Innovation (ICDI) between 01 July 2025 and 01 August 2025. The primary goal of this transition was to align institutional identity, governance, and organizational functions with the institute’s growth and academic diversification. The restructuring involved a shift from the previous council-based framework, where roles and authority were informal and overlapping, to a structured administrative model with clearly defined responsibilities.

Under the new framework, the ICDI Student Government (ICDISG) acts as the central approving and coordinating body, overseeing student initiatives, official documentation, and institutional representation. Program societies, including the Information Systems Society (ISSOC) and the Computer Science Society (CSSOC), are tasked with representing their respective programs, promoting student welfare, and advocating for program-specific initiatives while operating under the guidance and approval of ICDISG. The GITCUB organization supports cross-program initiatives and facilitates collaboration among societies, ensuring seamless integration of inter-organizational activities.
The transition also included a comprehensive rebranding, with the adoption of the ICDI name, a new logo, standardized templates, and an updated social media presence last August 01, 2025. The institute’s tagline, “ICDI — I See the Eye,” reflects its forward-looking commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and academic excellence.
